The Main Cause Of Hair Loss After Pregnancy
Hair loss after pregnancy affects 80 percent of every woman in the whole world who has one or the other time had to be pregnant. The situation is very common in the world today but not much is spoken about it by women who suffer from it. Sometimes I wonder why! Is it because they find the situation to be embarrassing? or is it because they are shy to talk about? All these reasons might be why they hardly talk about it but looking at the situation closely, it shouldn’t be a matter that needs to be kept away if you are actually suffering from it. Like a famous adage goes “a problem shared is a problem solved.” the topic about hair loss is one that addresses the natural occurrence of hair loss and help an individual to understand the cycle of hair growth in women after pregnancy. The fact that you are suffering from hair loss at the moment doesn’t demand for hair transplant at all. Here are the Various Stages of hair growth in women:
Anagen Stage: this is the stage when the hair is at its best state for growth. At this time, the cells that are found in the roots of the hair are very fast in dividing or detaching from each other which causes a rapid growth as a result of rapid multiple cell divisions. Through these divisions the hair also increases in length. The anagen stage usually lasts for about two to six years of continuous growth and after which the signal for temporal growth stoppage is sent to the hair follicle which automatically switches to the next stage of hair growth which is the catagen stage.
The Catagen Stage: this stage of hair transformation is the stage when the hair follicle has gotten a signal from the previous hair growth stage (anagen) to stop growing for a while. This period is when the hair stops from growing any further. And the follicle’s lower part starts to deteriorate as within this stage of hair loss and as a result of this deterioration, the bulb and the structure at the bottom of the follicle will gradually disappear. Deterioration causes the hair to shrink overtime and causes the hold of the hair follicle to be weak and that is the main cause of hair fallout even during a normal day to day activities. The hair can also fall out when combing, shampooing and brushing.
Telogen Stage: this is the stage that is referred to as the resting stage of hair growth. This stage of hair growth often last for about three months or more as the case may be in different people. The main feature of this stage is that there is totally no growing of hair of any sort. Hair falling out is usually part of this stage also. Unlike catagen stage that hair just keeps falling out, the telogen stage is more or less a combination of both categen and telogen. Telogen is the period when hair like I will always say “officially stops growing” and goes into resting mode. This stage is when a sufferer experiences slight hair loss which results from normal shampooing. At this stage the hair that is lost is considered to be normal and natural. The only strands that is seen to be normal when lost are about 80 to 100 strands daily, but once exceeded, attention should be given to your hair. to be very sure, it is better to go for a check up to ensure that you are not suffering any other diseases or ailment.
After the last stage, there is usually a recurrence of the first stage which was the anagen stage. The hair follicle without any form of medication will automatically reenter the anagen stage which restarts the growth of hair to get to the normal stage size it was before. When this stage reoccurs, it is like growing your hair all over again. A new shaft starts to grow in the new roots and the whole process of hair growth kicks back to its normal state.
